Bucket List Dreams βœ… Lac Le Jeune

Morning Time

Our two night stays always make for a chilled day…Callum opted to stay at the cabin and use the WiFi, gym, pool and games facilities, Jack and I were mad keen to get on the water at Lac Le Jeune..Tom was a little nervous so was happy to take up Dad’s offer of β€˜sitting it out’ for a game of battleships and catch.

We were first at the shores of the stunning Lac le Jeune Provincial Park and Jack was soon in an enjoying his first ever lake kayak! And what a crystal clear, perfectly perfect day for it!

Tom soon had a try too but decided he’d prefer to stay on dry land and work on persuading us to return to the vintage games room where he’s currently in 2nd and 3rd place on the leader board! πŸ˜‚ 25 years on and Turbo still does it!

As we were chilling on the beachside we spotted a Japanese mum and her toddler son floating off on an inflatable with no paddle! Jack stepped up, three off his hat in dramatic style and dived into the water to swim them back 😊❀️ A few minutes later they did the exact same thing – and so did Jack! They then seems to learn their lesson from Mr Jack Hasselhof! πŸ˜‚

Rescue mission
Listening to Michael Jackson 😊

It wasn’t long before Matt and Tom returned to the Wilderness Lodge and Jack and I were then able to hire a tandem kayak! What a totally, utterly, scrumptiously perfect 3 hours we had!

Circumnavigating Lac Le Jeune.. music playing… being entertained by the loons dive bombing up out of the water.

At one point, we just floated amongst the lily pads on the crystal clear lake, watching a Glastonbury set on Jack’s phone…a perfect moment on what ended up being one of my favourite ever afternoons!

Jack almost led me to my second head smash of the holiday when he decided we could fit under a ridiculously tiny bridge to reach a hidden second lake… it was a kayak limbo but with no option other than to succeed! He took the concrete and wooden bridge at typical Jack speed … creasing with laughter as we hit the rocks the other end and I was pinned terrified to our boat! πŸ›Ά Not content with one limbo he was desperate to do it again – and again!!

Evening saw the kids running feral around the wilderness lodges .. new friends and man hunt.. with a break to toast smors in between! πŸ”₯

In case you are wondering (as we were a few days ago!) smors are a real Canadian favourite… toasted marshmallows sandwiched between square slabs of chocolate and finally sweet crackers on the outside! β€οΈβ€οΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸπŸ˜‰

Tomorrow we aim for an early start, edging closer to the Rockies… Revelstoke National Park! πŸ”
