Capilano Suspension Bridge

Brothers

5am … headed out with Callum for a jet lagged beach walk… and we were soon joined by Jack… never one to miss a sunrise! The clouds were chasing across the sky, making for an ever changing light and mood… stunning!

Callum

From the beach we headed to Capilano… just 30 or so minutes from Jericho. A stop, en route, to introduce the boys to their first Tim Hortons! They loved the doughnuts but were horrified by the ‘saloon toilets’ where you can literally see and speak to the person next to person perched next to you! πŸ˜‚

Capilano was crazy! There are many times that having three lovely boys is a challenge … and the middle of a suspension bridge is now up there as one of them!

Callum’s antics earned him a megaphone warning .. and my patience earned me a fly past from a bald headed eagle! A fair pay off from the Gods of The Woods πŸ˜‚ …The Eagle swept straight down the gorge as we were right in the middle of the bridge! Breathtaking! I missed the shot of a life time as I was still admiring the banana slug that I’d photographed earlier! 😱😱

Raptor’s Ridge held Tom captive … owls, kestrels and πŸ¦… eagles…but it was the badass banana slug that once again held me captivated! Creeping it’s way cautiously across the rainforest this slimy creature really does deserve a special mention!

Banana Slug!

With his deep, hole like eyes he really does look a sorry state .. no fir…no patterns .. no interesting features to show off to the world.. he really must feel more than a little disappointed when he looks at his reflection in those morning wet leaves!

After completing our capers with the Capilano Cliff Walk, we headed off to complete a mission for Auntie Margaret, to find her brother’s grave in Mountain View Cemetary, Vancouver. With the help of a lady attending a funeral we found it! Yay!

It was then ‘home’, by popular demand to fry on the beach! Pizza for tea and volleyball for me, Tom and Jack to finish πŸ˜ŠπŸ¦‹πŸ’€πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦
